It was not a love at the first sight. This city looked as an incomplete chapter of a boring book. Until we took a closer look.
And the city started to explain its stories to us. A Slovak Golden City. One of the richest towns of the Kingdom of Hungary with the oldest still-working mint in the world, established in 1328. Kremnica. 175km from Bratislava.
This city is a heart of Europe! With geographical center of Europe next to the Gothic Church of John Baptist.
This city is mystic! With an old Slavic lettering (2.000 years old) on the rocks at the mysterious old Slavic sacrificial place, Velestúr.
This city has a pure adrenaline and the hardest Via ferrata in Slovakia, Skalka.
This city has fun and is home to the European festival of humour and satire.
How to get there: by car using D1/R1 highways to Žiar nad Hronom, then route 65 to Kremnica, approximately two hours drive from Bratislava. You can use a yellow minibus from Skalka to Kremnica. Shuttle from 10:30 to 16:30, every hour, during the summer
