AN EAGLE´S NEST: THE LEDNICA CASTLE

The Buckingham Palace, the White House and The Big Bang Theory. And their one connection. The RONA. A Slovak drinking glass manufacturer, established in Lednické Rovne, Slovakia, in 1892.

There is a marvelous medieval castle towering on a steep rock above Lednické Rovne. It looks like an eagle´s nest. In the past perhaps the most inaccessible castle in Slovakia.

One way led  into the castle, through three drawbridges and a ten-meter-long tunnel dug through solid rock. And, the legend says that the spirit of the beautiful lady of the castle Katarínka walks on top of the castle walls in the night.

How to get there: by car using D1 highway and E75 and 501 routes to Lednica village, approximately 1,45 hours’ drive from Bratislava
